What is an Accredited High School E-teacher ?

July 6, 2012

ROXIE, MS - The importance of a high school education and diploma in a young persons life is so important for their future. Nobody should question that statement.  However, some young people do not see this until it is too late, they don't like regular school, have to help support their family or other factors in their busy lives.  With the advent of the computer age, we have found a very successful online accredited high school that gives the parent and student a choice.  A learning experience plus a High School diploma.

At National High School, you will find the same classes that you find in traditional high schools. They provide a comprehensive set of high school classes online that cover core subjects, as well as additional areas of study. National High School has over 100 course offerings.

E-teachers and the Virtual School Guidance Counselor are available year round to help students pick the courses that are right for them and their post graduation goals. They also have a Course Suggestion List with recommended classes to begin. Students receive a well-rounded online high school education! Their curriculum is challenging, innovative, and aligned with national standards. Students awarded an accredited high school diploma must  satisfactorily complete the minimum 24 credit requirements to graduate.

National High School’s Credit Recovery Program allows for full-time students enrolled in traditional, brick and mortar schools to take the credits they need to meet their resident high school’s graduation requirements. In addition, National High School is a great option for both formally homeschooled and first time homeschooling students, plus:  they provide qualifying students with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) approved core courses required in both Division I and Division II schools.

The following information is taken from their website ....
NHS students are at the center of the learning process. Students experience a accredited virtual classroom that values cooperation, diversity, and high academic achievement. As in traditional classes, students are responsible for learning course content and completing course requirements. Students may find that the e-teacher has posted an announcement to the class, responded to questions or work submitted the previous class day, or made a new assignment available. Most students adjust quickly to online learning and enjoy their classes. What did students tell us they liked best about their online classes?
• Regionally Accredited recognized High School Diploma: Working at their own pace
• The relaxed feeling of not being in a large classroom with other students who always have the answer
• Exploring their creativity: E-teachers who helped them through the parts of the class that were hard to understand
• Not having to sit in a classroom and listen to someone preach
• Learning “a lot of things I would have not had the opportunity to learn if I had lot taken this course”
• Discovering that “I learned a lot more by reading than I would have by listening”

National High School is accredited by The Commission on International Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).  SACS Accrediting Commission is also recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). CHEA is a non-governmental agency that reviews and recognizes accrediting agencies that accredit degree-granting institutions and is listed by the United States Department of Education as  a nationally-recognized accrediting agency.
