Registration open for junior robotics camp


MISSISSIPPI STATE – Young people interested in robots, the science behind sports, and shaving cream tag are invited to register for the first ever Junior Robotics Camp at Mississippi State University.

The camp is a program of the MSU Extension Service and 4-H. Activities will include building robots, electrical circuit projects, catapult wars, field trips, campus experiences, a night at the movies and visits from special guests.

Students ages 8 to 13 can attend the three-day camp July 8-10. The $250 fee includes housing, meals, T-shirt, field trips and snacks. All 8 and 9 year old's must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The fee for adults attending with their children is $125.

Fifteen scholarships are available. Applications for the $75 scholarships are available through county 4-H agents and must be received at MSU’s Computer Services office by April 24. Scholarship recipients will be announced May 1.

Only 25 slots are available, and preference will be given to 4-H’ers who are active in the robotics project. The registration deadline is June 5. Camp fees must be paid by June 19.
