For the second year in a row, KeKe Collins collected All-Area Softball Player of the Year honors from The Daily Leader. The athletic Collins played shortstop for the Franklin County Lady Bulldogs, she batted .549 this season and knocked in 27 RBI's. The Daily Leader is a newspaper serving Brookhaven, Ms and all of Southwest Mississippi. The paper gives out its awards each year to outstanding local athletes.
Ms. Collins is a Co-Lin basketball signee. She has been one of the top softball players in the area the last four years, but has elected only to play basketball in college.
Also, making the First Team was Latroya Griffin, who batted .400 this season for the Franklin County Lady Bulldogs. She also pitched, winning 14 games for the team in fast-pitch softball action.
